Sr. SW Engineer, AP Team

This Senior Software Engineer position will have an excellent opportunity to work with high caliber teams building our next generation Access Points and adding features on existing products. You will be a major contributor to the team, working on leading edge technology, providing technical leadership in solving engineering problems. Experience on wireless technology and IEEE 802.11 standards is required.

 

Responsibilities:

- Define functional and design specifications to meet product feature requirements.

- Develop and maintain 802.11 standards and RF features for high performance Access Points.

- Work with team members and cross-functional groups to deliver high quality products and services.

- Provide technical leadership to members in local and overseas R&D centers.

 

Qualifications:

- BS/MS EE/CS with a minimum of 2-4 year work experience in the wireless product development.

- Solid background and experience in 802.11 standards and protocols.

- Strong knowledge in TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.

- Proficiency in C/C++ programming, software development and embedded systems.

- Experience in 802.1X, RF planning, IDS/IPS, Linux kernel, and multi-core software development is a plus.

- Good problem solving skills, highly self-motivated, and a good team player.

[Tsinghua-NC] Android and iPhone App Developer -- project based

The San Jose Public Library is seeking an Android and an iPhone App Developer with previous mobile development experience to create our historical walking tour apps using augmented reality technologies to connect geo-location-marked historical points of interest with digitized materials (photos, yearbooks, etc.). These positions will be responsible for the development of the apps, working through the submission process to the App Store, and conducting basic training for staff on making changes and updates. Content, architecture, and art direction will be provided by the Library.
The hourly rate for each project is $70 and it is estimated that each app will take approximately 100 hours to complete. These projects must be complete by 6/31/2011.

Qualifications:
- Ability to develop optimized, consistent, and responsive apps for Android or iOS
- Portfolio documenting experience with Android SDK or iOS SDK

- Experience developing and working with augmented reality apps
- Knowledge of Ajax, javascript, jquery mobile, and/or HTML5

Mentor Profile:
Mr. Raymond Yang 杨镭 is the founding partner and Managing Director of WestSummit Capital Management, which focuses on the global technology PE investment with China Angle. Prior to WestSummit Capital, he was the Managing Partner of Navi Capital Partner, a fund dedicated to growth stage companies in China in TMT, health care, clean tech, etc. areas. Mr. Yang is also the founding partner of Taishan Angel Invest fund, one of most succssful institutional angel funds in China.  .

Before that Mr. Yang was a venture partner at Northern Light Venture Capital, and was managing a US$120 million venture fund. He has made investment of a number of deals in Internet, wireless value-added service, IT media and consumer products sectors. 
Mr. Yang has built reputable leadership and in-depth industry knowledge over the past sixteen years in the Internet, wireless, IT, new media and telecommunication sectors in China. He joined Linktone (NASDAQ:LTON) in March 2003 as CEO to handle a turn-around situation, eleven months later he turned the company into a high profitable and high growth business and took the company to the IPO on NASDAQ, and created the first "Chinese wireless entertainment company on NASDAQ". Linktone has given its investors over twenty folds return. Linktone has also, under the leadership of Mr. Yang, worked with China Hunan Satellite TV Station to create famous Chinese Super Girl Show.  

Before joining Linktone, he had followed a career as a senior executive and entrepreneur at several high-technology companies in Silicon Valley U.S. and China. He was the founder and CEO of RivalWatch, Inc., a California-based startup providing competitive intelligence for retailers and manufacturers; Founder and CEO of Saratoga Technology International, a China-based voicemail and short messaging services (SMS) company, a strategic partner of Boston Technology Corporation; general manager of INFA Telecom, a subsidiary of Hong Kong New World Telephone; a senior technical member of a special development team for next-generation telecommunications products at Centigram Communication; and Asea Brown Boveri (ABB). Job duties and requirements are as follows

Design and implementation of sophisticated Graphical User Interface and other Man-Machine interface programs to dynamically process and display complicated images and data for medical imaging and acoustic imaging instruments. Interface of the software to high performance real-time systems and integration of the software with various external sensors and third-party software. This position requires extensive skills and experiences in programming complicated GUI applications for Windows environment. Hands-on experiences in Visual C++, MFC and OpenGL are strongly preferred.

BS degree in computer science is required. MS degree in computer science is strongly preferred.

Experienced on channel coding (including turbo, convolutional coding/decoding)

Description of position

This position is for a senior system and algorithm engineer who will actual work on OFDMA baseband PHY development. The candidate is responsible for the various PHY algorithm development including synchronization, MIMO and turbo decoder. He/she also will develop algorithm for help on integration of front-end analog/RF components and MAC function. The candidate needs to be a good team player and works with system, algorithm and ASCI group from different sites including Asia region.

Elizabeth Xu, Ph.D.

 

Elizabeth is the SVP of Software Development at RMS, responsible for global Product Development teams. Prior to RMS, She built a successful career at Vitria. She received promotions yearly in the first six years there, grew to SVP position, in charge of Vitria's Engineering, PM, WW customer Support, Education and IT Operation. Elizabeth started her career at IBM, where she had management positions and acquired deep knowledge in software development, solid management skills and leadership training. In the last few years, Dr. Xu devoted her time to elevating leadership skills in technical community. Her well-received presentation "Ten Steps to a Successful Career" provides building blocks for individuals who pursue meaningful career. Elizabeth received a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science and an M.S. in CS from the UNR. She has earned an M.S. in Atmospheric Science and B.S. in Space Physics from Peking University.

Jean Fuller

Dawn spent thirteen years with Heuristics Search Inc., an agency specializing in filling Software Engineering positions. She worked as a recruiter, group manager, and account executive, mentoring candidates and hiring managers toward their mutual goals. Dawn went on to become an onsite corporate and technical contract recruiter for companies in Silicon Valley from startups to Fortune 100 firms.
