The positions are more of staff engineer level, in the architecture/infrastructure division in San Jose. Candidate basically needs to know C++ and database very well, and has at least a couple of years of hands-on industrial experience.

Job Description
Responsibilities include:
• Driving high-level and detailed technical design documents, and active participation in design reviews.
• Investigation and prototyping critical high performance database components, frameworks and other software infrastructure.
• Providing technical guidance to other software engineers.
• Playing an active role in team and company wide architecture discussions
• Employ technical expertise in helping team members overcome technical problems
• Improve system performance, including both the software and database performance.
Job Requirements
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science is required and MSCS preferred.
• Preferred experience developing secure transactional software products.
• Advanced knowledge of Unix system programming and networking.
• Expert level C++ skills are required with demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems.
• Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS performance tuning and query optimization or other large commercial databases.
• Familiarity with Clearcase & Clearquest preferred.
• Strong understanding and command of OOP practices, UML is a plus.
• Preferred experience developing highly scalable transactional software products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a positive due to dynamic nature of discussions with other engineering and product teams.
