Job Title: Principal Engineer - Mechanical Design (FEA/Analysis)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The engineer in this position will extensively conduct finite element analysis and experimental analysis, and participate in problem solving and innovations for HDD mechanics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform FE modeling and analyses using ANSYS and ANSYS Workbench
- Interpret the FEA results and provide the physics of root causes and solutions
- Participate in mechanical resonance management and conduct resonance related testing and failure analysis
- Perform the root cause diagnosis on mechanical related issues
- Actively involve in group brain-storms and technical activities
- Support advanced mechanical and staging projects
- Recommend design directions to meet product performance requirements during development and firefighting stages
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 2 ~ 5 year professional FEA experience
- Proficient in mechanical design and/or testing
- Good team work spirit and communication skills
- PhD or Master in Mechanical Engineering or other related field; PhD is preferred
- Solid background and skills in the areas of FEA, dynamics, solid mechanics, vibration, shock, and heat transfer etc.
- Familiar with ANSYS finite element software package
- Hands on experience of lab measurements and data analyses
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills
- Experience with MATLAB, LS-DYNA and SOLIDWORKS is a plus
- Experience with HP analyzer, LDV, and vibration/shock tests is a plus
