Responsibilities

ESI is recruiting for an applications engineer with experience in the area of laser processing of materials for our Interconnect and Micromachining Division. As a member of this team, the successful candidate will utilize their skills and experience in laser micromachining of materials to develop applications, driving new market opportunities for ESI. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with customers during sample processing to insure ESI delivers results that drive customer satisfaction and success.

This individual will also interface with the division's engineering team to formulate system definitions consistent with processing needs. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks on schedule with minimal supervision while delivering quality output. The ability to function well in a fast-paced, technically challenging, multi-disciplinary environment is a must. A demonstrated ability in moving tasks through concept to design to successful implementation is required. The ability to multi-task, work on a team, and prioritize is required.

Requirements:

·  B.S. or Masters degree in materials science, chemistry, electrical engineering or physics with experience in the laser processing of materials.

·  Demonstrated laboratory experience with lasers and optics.

·  Experience working with diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) lasers, fiber lasers, and mode-locked laser technology.

·  Experience with lasers operating throughout the UV-Visible-IR range.

·  Experience with lasers operating in the nanosecond and picosecond pulse width range.

·  An understanding of optical systems and design. Experience with beam delivery and stage motion solutions as applied to laser processing and the integration of these components into systems is a plus.

·  Experience with design of experiments (DOE) methods.

·  Experience interfacing and working with customers is a plus.

·  Strong problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to closure.

·  Ability to travel internationally. Ability to travel to international customer sites requires appropriate work authorization to freely enter and exit primarily Asia Pacific countries.

·  Fluency in Japanese, Korean or Chinese is a plus.

·  Primary consideration will be given to US Citizens and US Green Card Holders.

Requirements:

Optical Inspection System Designer

ESI is recruiting for an optical inspection system designer reporting into the Director of Engineering in the Components, Test and Inspection Division. This individual will have experience designing optical systems for inspection and measurement applications and will be familiar with all aspects required to design a complete automated machine vision system. Using their understanding of illumination schemes, image scanning and capture methods, and image processing algorithms the successful candidate will be chartered with designing and implementing production-worthy designs to drive ESI business opportunities.

Given these responsibilities, this individual will possess excellent hands-on laboratory skills and a passion for working with both the engineering team to define and drive successful designs and the manufacturing team to ensure a successful transfer of the solution into production. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks on schedule with minimal supervision while delivering quality output. The ability to function well in a fast-paced, technically challenging, multi-disciplinary environment is a must. A demonstrated ability in moving tasks through concept to design to successful implementation is required. The ability to multi-task, work on a team, and prioritize is required. The demonstrated ability to develop and drive programs aligned with corporate objectives is needed.

Requirements:

·  A Ph.D. or Masters degree in optics, physics or a closely related field with a focus on optical inspection and optical design.

·  Demonstrated experience in the design and successful implementation of production-worthy optical systems.

·  Demonstrated experience in visible light imaging systems for industrial machine vision applications.

·  An understanding of illumination schemes in both reflection and transmission based systems.

·  Experience with optical scanning and image capture techniques.

·  Experience with image processing methods and algorithm development.

·  Experience interfacing and working with customers is a plus.

·  Strong problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to closure.

·  History of IP development as evidenced by a strong patent portfolio is a plus.

·  Strong record of technical publications and conference presentations is a plus.

·  Imaging and optical component product selection experience.

·  Experience with optical design/analysis and optical SW applications; (e.g. Zemax, FRED, OSLO, Code V).

This role is for the View Manager Console team.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with product and engineering management to help analyze and refine product requirements and propose functional requirements, designs and implementations that meet them
  • Ability to develop high-quality UI components that meet UI designs (work with an illustrator/graphic designer and the User Experience team)
  • Work within a collaborative team, with other developers, to architect, design, help document, implement and integrate major product features
  • Work with QA on test plans and test cases for components and features you are responsible for to ensure high product quality
  • Write well documented, high performance, reliable, maintainable code


Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science with 4+ years of professional development experience.
  • Strong experience with complex, multi-tiered web applications required. With any of the modern web app technology such as Adobe Flex,  Javascript, AJAX, CSS, JSP,  JSF, Servlet and HTML.
  • Strong experience working with Java middle layer with excellent design and programming skills required
  • Experience with DB, JMS, ADAM, LDAP and system management is good to have.
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills.
  • Desire to work in an exciting environment and deliver new technologies and products to the marketplace.
  • Must be motivated, detail-oriented, have the ability to thrive in a team environment

Executive Summary
 
Doreen Woo Ho is currently a board member of the SF Port Commission, the SF Opera, C100 (Committee of 100) and APIASF (Asian Pacific Islander Scholarship Fund).  She is a retired seasoned executive with over 35 years of commercial and consumer banking experience.  She is the former President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of United Commercial Bank ("UCB™") and President of Community Banking  (2009).  Prior to UCB she was engaged by Wells Fargo & Company (1998-2008), serving as a member of the Wells Fargo Management Committee, the President of the Consumer Credit Group and EVP responsible for Enterprise Marketing, Student Loans and Corporate Trust.  Prior to Wells Fargo, she was a Senior Vice President with Citibank (1974-1998), holding multiple management positions in corporate banking, marketing, retail banking, consumer lending and small business banking. Before joining Citibank, Ms. Woo Ho was a correspondent for Time magazine and CBS Radio News based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 1972 to 1973.
 
Ms. Ho was recently appointed by Mayor Ed Lee as a Commissioner of the San Francisco City Port Commission which oversees the maritime, commercial real estate, industrial and public service businesses of the San Francisco port and waterfront.  She also serves on the board of the San Francisco Opera.  She is also one of the founding board members of the national Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF), which administers the Gates Millenium Scholarship as well as its own national scholarship program...
 
Ms. Ho is also a Vice Chair and Board member of C100, an organization of Chinese American leaders dedicated to improving US/China relations and promoting the full participation of Chinese Americans in American society.  She has co-chaired the Governance Committee, the 2010 Annual Conference for C100 in San Francisco, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee. She also serves on the Smith College President's Council (2008-Present) to provide advisory input to President Carol Christ. 
 
Ms. Ho has also served previously on the board of the United Commercial Bank in 2009, a publicly traded company on NASDQ, and the boards of the Hamlin School (Treasurer), the SF chapter of the World Affairs Council, the International Institute of Education, Fort Mason Center and the San Francisco Zoo. 
 
Professional Experience
 
Doreen Woo Ho is the former President, CEO and Director of United Commercial Bank (UCB), a leading commercial and community bank in the United States serving the Chinese community in America and in Greater China with assets over $12 Billion. The bank served the retail and mass affluent consumers, small business, commercial real estate, construction lending and middle market commercial segments providing full commercial and retail banking services. The bank included 70 retail banking branches and commercial banking offices in six states as well as a branch in Hong Kong, a wholly owned bank in Shanghai and representative offices in Taipei, Beijing and Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Ho was engaged with the bank from January 2009 until November 2009 when UCB was sold and merged with East West Bank.
 
Following UCB, in 2010 Ms. Ho acted an independent banking and investment consultant, traveling frequently to the Greater China region. Prior to UCB, she was the President of the Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Group and a member of the Wells Fargo Management Committee. During her tenure (1998-2008), she also oversaw the bank's Enterprise Marketing Group, where she was responsible for global branding, advertising and marketing programs, as well as strategic oversight for consumer marketing across the bank. As the President of the Consumer Credit Group, Ms. Ho built one of the fastest growing and profitable asset groups within Wells Fargo from 1998 to 2007, from an initial portfolio of $11 Billion to over $103 Billion. As  the general business manager for the prime home equity product, she took Wells Fargo to number one in market share nationally in 2001. In addition, Ms. Ho was  responsible for other business lines, including personal lines and loans, student loans and a corporate trust business, servicing over $2.2 Trillion of securities.  Total number of employees managed exceeded 8000, and total portfolio managed under her leadership exceeded $103 Billion , generating over $1 Billion in net income for Wells Fargo,
 
Ms. Ho started her banking career with Citibank (1974-1998), undergoing international banking operations and corporate credit management training programs.  For the first ten years of her career with Citi, she engaged in corporate banking.  She subsequently moved to consumer banking and held multiple senior management positions in residential mortgage lending. She also held different management assignments covering multi-family lending, affordable housing, marketing, and business banking. Her career included responsibilities as the Chief Credit Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for Citibank Regional Banking in California.  She also built a de novo small business banking group in California and grew it to over $1 Billion in deposits and assets in 3 years.  Her last assignment with Citi was SVP/National Marketing Manager for Business Banking, covering California, Nevada, New York, Florida, Chicago and Washington DC.
 
Other Information
 
During her tenure with Wells Fargo, Ms. Ho was the highest ranked Asian American banker in North America among the top five banks.  In October 2007, Ms. Ho was ranked among the top five of the 25 "Most Powerful Women in Banking" by U.S. Banker magazine, recognition that she received consecutively for five years from 2003. The same year, she was recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Bay Area's 100 Most Influential Women, an honor she has received every year from 2003 through 2009. Ms. Ho has received numerous honors and awards from the National Association of Asian American Professionals (2010), Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics, Inc. (2007), Asian Real Estate Association of America (2007), San Francisco Financial Women's Association (2004), Chinese Historical Society of America (2002), the Chinatown Community Development Corp (2003), and the Organization for Chinese Americans (2003 & 2007).
 
She has been a frequent speaker at various forums, including the National Association of Asian American Professionals, US Banker "Most Powerful Women in Banking", Consumer Bankers Association, Inman Real Estate Conference, the Thomson Mortgage Technology Conference and the Financial Women's Association of San Francisco. [Tsinghua-NC] Engineer Job Openings: System (Algorithm) Engineer & Electronic Circuit Engineer

LinkQuest Inc., a fast growing and profitable advanced technology company based in San Diego, California, is looking for a system (algorithm) engineer and an electronic circuit engineer to expand its R&D effort in leading-edge medical imaging systems and precision acoustic instruments.


Job duties and requirements are as follows


1. System (Algorithm) Engineer


Development of digital signal processing and image processing algorithms for advanced medical imaging systems and precision acoustic instruments. Work includes analytical algorithm development, functional and error analysis, computer simulation, mixed hardware and computer emulation, and field and clinical test verification. This position requires strong digital signal processing education, good intuition and experience with derivation and analysis in the applied research area. The candidate should be familiar with Matlab & C programming and experienced with processing experimental data on computers. Experience in sophisticated image processing and array signal processing is a big plus.


Ph.D. in electrical engineering, applied physics, applied mathematics and related fields is required.


2. Electronic Circuit Engineer


This position requires hands-on experience in design, implementation, debugging and testing of sophisticated analog circuits and digital circuits based on DSP and micro controllers. Experience in overall product development including conceptual design, feasibility study, prototyping and commercialization is preferred. PCB layout skill is a plus. Please note this is NOT an IC/ASIC engineer position.


B.S. degree in electrical engineering is required. M.S. degree is strongly preferred.

ASIC verification lead

Santa Clara, CA

We are looking for a self-motivated, team-oriented senior networking ASIC verification engineer to lead the verification effort. This individual will be a key member of the ASIC system, full chip, and block level verification team. Responsibilities will include developing the verification environment; developing test plans and verifying the function of the ASIC.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will include hands-on implementation work for every aspect of ASIC verification, working closely with the system group, architects, RTL designers and verification teams
  • Developing testbench and test cases, plus executing the test plan
  • Debug test failures at block, full chip, and system level
  • The successful candidate should have experience in going through several complete and successful ASIC design/verification cycles from architecting and creating of ASIC test environment (storage technology preferred) to full completion of the verification work.
  • Evaluate and enhance test plans to increase test coverage
  • Run regression
  • The candidate also needs to have a full understanding of design using Verilog, and working experience with C/C++.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 7 years of ASIC design verification experience
  • Ability to take full responsibility of test plan and successful tape-out experience of complex ASIC.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, and at least one of the following; Verilog, SystemVerilog, OVM.
  • Previous experience as a lead of an ASIC verification team, responsible for implementation of verification environment and generation of high quality test cases.
  • BS EE, CE or CS; or equivalent work experience, MSEE preferred
  • Networking experience is highly desirable.

•Hands-on experience in designing mixed signal circuits including ADCs, DACs, PLLs,Filters, Bandgap bias circuits, regulators, and other analog circuits.
•Knowledge and Experience on low power and high speed design techniques.
•Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are essential.
•Strong knowledge on IC design CAD tools such as Spectre, Spice, Matlab, Hsim, Verilog, etc
•A thorough understanding of the physical layout requirement and ability to perform the critical layouts
•Lab testing skills to evaluate the prototype unit to the design specification.
•Motivated to carry out a wide variety of tasks with clear communication and presentation skills in a dynamic team environment.
