[Tsinghua-NC] Looking for storage RAID, data backup software founding partner

A storage startup is looking for founding partners in following area:

RAID developer

Expertise and skills in developing disk RAID - 0,1,5 or 6. This position is imporatant to the product as it is the key factor to determine the performance and efficiency. The development platform is is Linux (Redhat, SUse). You should be able to propose storage architecture and algorithm to optimize the storage part of the product. Working experince in big storage vendors like Symantec (Veritas), EMC, Sun, NetApp, Quantum aswell as other storage players etc is an asset but not limited to.

Backup software expert

You are experiecned in deveoping backup software in either core, or various application plugins, how the data is fetched and packaged, send the data is sent to the destination repository. When the data is needed, the data is called back and the application can use the data perfectly. Working experiecnes in Symantec(Veritas), Legato, Commvault and others is an asset.

Our group has worked on 60GHz wireless domain for several years and there are several digital design openings at our next new project for 60GHz WiGig standard.

Below are job descriptions for MAC, PHY, SOC, and Verification.

MAC:

Required Skills:
Experience in the following areas of expertise is desired:

Knowledge of media access control (MAC) for wireless or wired networks
Knowledge of USB protocol
RTL design, verification, and chip integration
Co-simulation/verification with wireless MAC and video algorithms

Experience in the following is beneficial but not necessary requirement:

FPGA design flow, testing and emulation
Communication systems and RF systems
Knowledge of USB Host/Device design, OTG design and USB DMA is a plus
Familiarity with wireless communication systems and standards (802.11b/g/n and WiGig)

Candidates must have MSEE degree or Ph.D. in EE with at least 7 years of experience.

PHY:

Requirements:
Experience in the following areas of expertise is desired:

Data-flow architectures
Single-carrier and OFDM-based Wireless LAN
Smart antenna array techniques
Digital Signal Processing, such as FFT, filtering
Error correcting coding and decoding

Micro-architecture, design and verification

Experience in the following as well is beneficial but not required:

Description:

RTL design and verification for the embedded CPU subsystem in the wireless baseband ASIC
RTL design and verification associated with top-level/centralized blocks and integration of third-party/in-house IPs (e.g., PCIe/SDIO/USB/ARM/ARC)
Chip-level methodology (clocks, resets, test planning)
Synthesis/STA/LEC/DFT implementation
FPGA prototyping
Silicon Validation

Familiarity with embedded CPUs (ARM/ARC/Tensilica), PCIe, SDIO, USB interface protocol would be a big plus.

Verification:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join the digital design team to execute a state-of-the-art IC design project in the wireless communication field. Candidate will be doing verification tasks, collaborating remotely with overseas design/verification team(s). He/she must demonstrate good communication skills, be a quick learner, and must be self-motivated. Familiarity with common internal bus protocols (e.g., AMBA) , embedded CPUs and interface protocols (e.g., PCIe,USB3.0) is desirable. Job responsibilities will include developing testbench, writing/debugging simulation test. Proficiency in Verilog, scripting, and C/C++ will be needed; and familiarity with System Verilog/Specman is a plus.

Crocodile in the Yangtze follows China's first Internet entrepreneur and former English teacher, Jack Ma, as he battles US giant eBay on the way to building China's first global Internet company, Alibaba Group. An independent memoir written, directed and produced by an American who worked in Ma's comany for eight years, Crocodile in the Yangtze captures the emotional ups and downs of life in a Chinese Internet startup at a time when the Internet brought China face-to-face with the West.

Crocodile in the Yangtze draws on 200 hours of archival footage filmed by over 35 sources between 1995 and 2009. About Porter Erisman

Porter first landed in China in 1994 and, after a year of Chinese language study, fell into a six-month stint as host of China through Foreigners' Eyes, a travel program on China Central Television.

After studying for an MBA in the United States from 1996-1998, Porter returned to China and worked at Ogilvy & Mather in Beijing, overseeing an Internet marketing group as China's Internet began to take off. Lured by the excitement of joining an Internet startup, Porter joined Alibaba.com in April 2000, just as the company moved out of a small apartment. From 2000-2008, Porter worked as a Vice-President at Alibaba.com and Alibaba Group, at various times leading the company's international website operations, international marketing and corporate affairs. In 2002, Porter took a year off from Alibaba to travel around-the-world, during which time he spent two months riding a bicycle across China retracing the southern route of the Long March. Porter's career began in Washington, DC in 1992-1994 where he taught leadership workshops for high school students at the Close Up Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to hands-on education about the US democratic system.

Porter received a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Additional studies include courses at the Beijing Language University, the New York Film Academy and the Culinary Institute of America. Crocodile in the Yangtze is Porter's first film.

Summary:

Perform motherboard hardware validation testing; conduct hardware testing with specified test tools; report hardware quality report into tracking systems; contribute to validation test plans and test cases preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform motherboard hardware validation testing

Conduct hardware testing with test tools such as: Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Function Generator, etc.

Report hardware quality assurance issues into bug tracking systems

Record and update validation report on each performed task

Contribute to validation test plans and test cases preparation

Research root cause and solution of the quality issues which were discovered

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Master's degree in EE field is a plus
Knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and of generally accepted officially
