Senior Digital Power Management Design Engineer

Justification 

Digital Design Engineer will work on leading-edge digital controlled power management area. The candidate will simulate, design, implement and verify Marvell's innovated control methodology on AC-DC, DC-DC, and lighting/LED system. The candidate will work closely with the team including system design, analog design, application and test. This opening is the key position in the silicon development of the related products. 

 

 

Job description:

 

The ideal candidate is familiar with digital methodologies with power background and is able to do system level simulation based on power topology and control algorithm. The candidate should be experienced with digital signal processing algorithms and should have solid knowledge of related VLSI architectures. The candidate should be able to implement the control algorithm with the RTL, such as Verilog or VHDL, and be knowledgeable on the mixed-signal systems. The candidate needs to have the background/experience on power electronics, including topology and control.

 

The candidate will work on the digital design on the power management IC, including system level simulation, RTL code implementation and IC verification, help on the front-end and back-end design processes. 

Qualification:

* Experience and Knowledge of the C++, Matlab and Pspice. Being capable of doing the simulation at the system level

* Experience and Knowledge of hardware description languages and experience in behavioral level and RTL coding (Verilog preferred).

* Experience of the FPGA verification of the control algorithm and implementation, such as Xilinx or Altera based system implementation

* Knowledge on power electronics topology, such as Boost, Buck and Flyback, etc., and control methods on AC/DC and DC/DC power management
* Basic knowledge of computer arithmetic, digital signal processing, control theory, and related VLSI architectures.

* BS in Electrical Engineering and at least three years of professional experience, MS and PH.D preferred. For candidates with MS or PH.D degree, less than three years of professional experience would be acceptable.

最想幹的事   盡最大努力去幹

6月3日，潮江春，十來個清華校友圍坐一桌，聽王雷學姐（1989級計算機系）娓娓講述她的挑戰極限之旅。

 

面前的王雷學姐，個子不高，也稱不上強壯。難以想像，就是這樣一位略顯瘦小的女性，剛剛征服了珠穆朗瑪峰，並在此之前征服了世界其他六大洲的頂峰、征服了南極和北極，成為世界上第十位完成這一"7+2"極限挑戰的人類，也是第一位完成這一壯舉的華人女性。就連學姐當年的同班同學都說：我看見她，就和當年的她沒什麼大的變化，真不敢相信她完成了這樣的壯舉。

 

王雷學姐說，04年剛開始爬山的時候，她非常瘦弱，但她是最勤練不輟的一個。從舉重、馬拉松、攀岩開始，在教練的教導下，她一點一點地超越自己的極限，她想證明，一個普通人，也可以做到專業運動員都不一定能做到的事情。她說，爬山的時候，往往堅持到最後的人，不是那些身體條件最好的，而是最有耐力的人。王雷學姐把爬山比作暗夜裡的馬拉松：看不到爬了多少，也看不到終點在哪；最重要的是，路邊沒有鮮花與掌聲，所有的動力都要來自自己——如果一個人能夠堅持下來這樣的暗夜馬拉松，那麼他的內心就足夠強大。

 

王雷學姐用平實的描述，低調的姿態完美詮釋了清華的校風：行勝於言。短短的幾個小時，我們無法詳盡地瞭解她背後那些精彩的故事，但卻在她那樸實的不能再樸實的言行裡，體會到了——追夢的力量。

 

一個人的頭銜、職位並不能決定這個人的價值，但一個人所選擇的發揮自己能力的方式，卻是一種人生價值的重要體現。王雷學長的故事，帶給我們很多思考。

2) Algorithm Development Scientist: located in Hong Kong

The scientist's primary responsibility will be in supporting external EEG experiments using NeuroSky EEG devices.  These might be university groups or NeuroSky's commercial partners.  The job will be located in Hong Kong.  Additionally, as time permits, the scientist may create and run his or her own EEG experiments with a focus on creating useful algorithms that estimate a person's brain state.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with experiment design and analysis
Knowledge of typical EEG signals and artifacts
Ph.D. in cognitive science, neuroscience, signal processing or related areas preferred
Experience with various classifiers and machine learning techniques

3) Circuit Design Engineer: located in San Jose, CA

The engineer will be responsible for implementing new product ideas in human-computer interaction by creating PCB-based designs using new various sensors. This includes designing sensor-level circuitry, testing, and documentation of results.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with analog design at PCB level
Experience with sensor signal conditioning circuits
Knowledge of C programming, especially with embedded processors
Experience with bench top circuit testing

[Tsinghua-NC] Interviewing Alumni for Tsinghua University Centenary Celebration

I'm a sophomore in Tsinghua, Beijing. It will be 100th Tsinghua Centennial Anniversary next year, and we want to collect infomation of alumni and interview outstanding alumni of all fields. [Tsinghua-NC] Fwd: Lei Wang had reached the summit of Everest!

Dear Tsinghua alumni and friends, 

On the 23rd of May 2010, Lei Wang, a Tsinghua alumna in Boston, had reached the summit of Everest and became the first Chinese woman, as well as the first Asian-American woman to climb the highest mountain on every continent and to ski to both the North and South Poles. 

Before then, there were only 9 people in the world that have finished both the Seven Summits and the Two Poles. Now Lei Wang become the 10th.

 

Congratulations to Lei on her amazing accomplishment!

 

Lei has returned from the Everest safely and she is in Hong Kong now. She will come back to Boston soon. More details about her adventure can be found at the following websites:
