夏淳博士新近在硅谷创办了互联网社会媒体技术公司mash5并担任首席执行官，将PaaS云计算技术与社会媒体结合并推向企业应用。近五年来，夏淳活跃于社会媒体的前沿领域，是Sun的大型社群开发计划Zembly项目的社会系统构架师，也是最流行的媒体共享开源项目Azureus的主力开发贡献者。此前，夏淳在硅谷Engineered Intelligence担任副总裁，负责将云计算中的海量内存虚拟集群计算技术推广应用于华尔街的金融界。2001年，在全球化工巨头斥资两亿美元的B2B项目Elemica中担任首席系统构架师，为CIO们提供战略咨询和规划设计服务。夏淳在1998年合伙创办了硅谷公司BrightInfo，分别就任总裁和技术执行长，开发销售市场领先地位的互联网智能理货管理软件系统，并成为IBM电子商务的一级战略合作伙伴和供应商。该公司在2000年被成功并购后，又合伙创办了ThinkMart.com并任总裁，为中小型知识型服务商提供网上行销系统。创业前，在Sun Microsystems担任系统设计师，开发电信级的超大型云计算集群服务系统。 夏淳1985年获清华大学电子工程学士学位，1989年获清华大学计算机硕士学位，1996年获美国伊立诺大学计算机博士学位。在一流国际学术会议和刊物上发表多篇有影响力的学术论文。在云计算中的自我诊断容错，互联网智能嵌入，富媒体自动合成等核心技术方面，获得多项美国专利。

Si Shen 沈思

Co-founder and CEO of PapayaMobile Inc. which is one of the biggest mobile social networks and mobile social game developers on Android. Papaya has 4 million registered users in the US and Europe although the company is based in Beijing. Papaya has recently opened its platform for third-party developers to develop their applications through Papaya's SDKs and open APIs. PapayaMobile was invested by DCM. Before starting PapayaMobile, Si was the product lead for mobile in Google Beijing. She used to be a product manager for search and mobile advertising in Google Mountain View. Si got her master's degrees in Computer Science and Manage Science and Engineering from Stanford, and her bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University.

[Tsinghua-NC] Mei-Chu Greeting Letter from Chancellor Chen

Dear Tsing-Hua alumni:

     Attached please find the Mei-Chu greeting letter from the Chancellor Chen. In this letter, there is a brief update on the current status and recent activities in Tsing-Hua.

     I have collected this year's Mei Chu Sai pictures in the following link. Please feel free to browse through them and get a sense on how intense it was when the games were played among us and Chiao-Tung. [Tsinghua-NC] 2010 灣區梅竹賽

Dear Alumni,

This year is the 7th year of the Bay Area MeiChu and here is the
current status of the 2010 MeiChu Sai:

Won: Badminton, Tennis
Lost:  Bridge, Basketball, Volleyball, Golf

    So, we are down 2:4 so far and if we can win both Softball and
Tug-of-War next Sunday, we can tie it 4:4 with Chiao-Tung.

    That said, we really need your support to show up at this year's
MeiChu BBQ/picnic event which is the main event of the MeiChu Sai. It
is going to be next Sunday (Oct. 17) at the Washington Park in
Sunnyvale. The official flyer is attached. Please reserve your time
and bring your family and friends over to meet our alumni there.

    I am still collecting the MeiChu Sai pictures and here is  the
link for badminton. Big congratulations to our badminton team who
managed to get the first badminton win over CT!!! Great JOB!!!

      苏州市领导作风高效、快速、务实。苏州市成为本次北美高层次人才创业大赛的独家合作城市。苏州市人才领导工作小组和苏州国际精英创业周组委会，决心把人才工作做到海外，深化引智引才工作，通过这次北美创业大赛，推介国际高层次人才创业首选城市苏州的创业环境，挖掘投资优秀企业和项目，引进落户高层次人才。

      在3个月的赛期中，大赛持续欢迎更多的园区和单位赞助，加入大赛的全球广告宣传，参与创业项目筛选、决赛评选和展厅展示。

      这次大赛也得到中华人民共和国驻旧金山总领事馆的指导。中国园区、民间资本、天使投资、风险投资如中关村、北京海外学人中心、清华科技园、启迪创投、清华企业家协会、北极光、华山资本、Zero2IPO，以及NEA，Walden，Sierra，DFJ等都将参与评选和展示。园区和风投将选择优胜项目进行投资，组织市场对接，园区落户。

这次海外华人创业家的盛会为期三个月，经过初赛、复赛后，选出20个优秀团队，进入2011年1月在美国硅谷举办的决赛。决赛当日，创业团队和高层次人才、高新园区、风险投资、产业领袖聚集，是技术、人才、资本的峰会。决赛优胜项目将会有机会获得天使投资和其它资本的10到50万美金的投资。优胜项目也将组成回国对接团，访问国内相关城市和园区，寻求市场和产业对接，实现成果转化。部分项目还会进入决赛之后开始的创业导师计划。

美中高层次人才交流协会是海外第一个由多名成功海归带领、专注海外高层次人才创业的非营利专业组织。协会通过示范中心、专家委员会、天使投资，创新创业成果显著。仅过去一年中，就组织回国高层次人才创业考察400多人次，有些项目获得3000万美金、数千万人民币的投资，数十个项目获得上海、无锡530、苏州、西安等地的资助并落户。协会有创业会员2000多人，高层次人才、行业专家10000多人。2010年9月9日，美中高层次人才交流协会牵头，会同硅谷的其它六个协会，成功举办了北京市硅谷高层次人才群英会。
