Senior developer in test
Marketo Inc., a San Mateo based SAAS applications company, is looking for an exceptional senior developer with a background in enterprise web applications testing to help ensure quality delivery of our leading edge marketing automation platform. Our platform combines drag and drop design tools for email and landing page creation, campaign management, Salesforce.com integration, and analytics and reporting into a modern, interactive Web 2.0 user interface which allows marketing professionals to manage campaigns without IT support!
Responsibilities
• Contribute testing code as part of a small, smart, dynamic, agile development team.
• Work with business stakeholders and developers in all phrase of development process to ensure highly efficient test cases to be designed and automated.
• Take pride in the quality of your team's work and act as a gatekeeper for the release quality for your team's delivery.
• Conduct integration, regression, ad-hoc, and edge-case testing as part of our release cycle.
• Participate in the design and implementation of our automation test framework, and take the ownership to increase the automation coverage as well as reduce the testing cycle.
Requirements:
• A strong foundation in computer science and/or math combined with demonstrable problem solving aptitude.
• 4+ years of commercial software development and testing experience. You write code and build things because you love to, not because it's your job.
• Excellence is derived from your talent, not domain experience with specific tools. That said, it would be useful if you had recent hands on experience in LAMP stack, Java, PHP, Python and other scripting languages.
• Strong affinity for agile software development, continuous integration and test driven development. You are interested in, if not passionate about, infrastructure and processes that improve engineering productivity and system reliability
• Can quickly grok and make significant contributions to an large complex automation testing framework.
• Lifelong learner. Constantly experimenting and iterating. Energetic. Pragmatic. Get things done. An independent team player. Not afraid to ask for help
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Bonus:
• Prior experience with web based CRM, Marketing automation and BPM tools.
• Made a significant contribution to a large-scale web application or automation testing framework.
• Passionate about designing and delivering automation tools for software development.
• Contributed to open source projects (i.e. code we can review)
