This seminar will compare the work of cutting edge developers of eco-city systems and their accomplishments:

Moderator: James T. Caldwell Ph.D., Director, UCGEC; Chair, UCGEC Green Building and Ecocities Task Force; Consultant to Heller Manus Architects.

Gordon Feller, Director, Urban Innovations – Internet Business Solutions Group, Cisco Systems. Cisco's 'Smart+Connected Communities' initiative is improving the delivery of urban services while strengthening economic development in cities of varying sizes and types. He will describe some of S+CC's current areas of focus, and look at work now underway in Asia, Europe and North America.

Charles Wells, Platform Architect, OSIsoft, Inc., "Renewable Energy Micro-grids for Ecocities" These micro-grids tie local renewable energy into Eco-city power infrastructures to intelligently distribute and utilize it. He will discuss several projects including one at Hainan Island, China.
