JOB DESCRIPTION:

The engineering intern in this position will conduct vibrational signal measurement and simulation work to correlate experimental results

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To take Positional Error Signal (PES) measurement with WD internal tools
• To interpret the measurement with knowledge in Kinetics and Signal Processing
• Perform the root cause diagnosis on mechanical related issues
• To develop software tools to automate the data collection and post-processing

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient in mechanical design and/or testing
• Good team work spirit and communication skills
• Graduate student in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Solid background and skills in the areas of dynamics, solid mechanics, vibration, shock, signal processing/feedback systems. 
• Good analysis and problem solving skills
• Hands on experience of lab measurements and data analyses is preferred
• Experience with MATLAB is required
