Principal Engineer/ XBOX Silicon Development
Microsoft XBOX team needs a strong principal engineer to lead the silicon development for current and future XBOX products.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in all facets of silicon development, from micro-architecture through production.
Work with the architects and system engineers to define the micro-architecture of the chip, providing technical information for RFPs and SOWs.
Evaluate and provide recommendations for technology, IP, and vendor selection.
Work closely with external vendors and internal teams to manage the implementation and silicon validation of the chip.
Manage implementation tasks, including: spec definition, RTL design, verification, physical design, timing signoff, electrical and physical verification.
Ensure that sound methodologies are used for design and ensure a quality tape out through rigorous checklist reviews.
Drive the development of a comprehensive PVT silicon validation test plan which will include directed functional tests, stress testing, performance validation, timing validation of chip interfaces, characterization of IP.
Support the PE team during ATE program development, component qualification and other activities to get the chip ready for production.
Work with vendors to get all documentation (specs, datasheets, programmers model etc) required for system engineering and software development.
Work independently with a keen eye for attention to detail and provide crisp status of progress, issues, and risks on the program to the management team.
Requirements:
BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related filed with 12+ years of experience
Proven track record of successful design of complex multi-million gate ASICs in leading-edge technology
Strong background in system (PC) architecture, and custom high performance CPU design
Experience with industry standard bus interfaces desired
Strong experience and technical expertise in VLSI design and silicon IC validation
Strong communication, Leadership and interpersonal skills

Verification Engineer-Principal-Xbox-Silicon
Product: Xbox Home
Division: Entertainment & Devices Division
We are looking for a senior candidate that will be part of the core verification team that handles pre- and post-silicon verification for the Xbox group.
He or she will participate in the creation of an environment which can be used to verify individual IP within a chip, as well as verifying the full-chip functionality.
For IP we acquire externally, this candidate will be driving verification methodologies and requirements with the external vendors. He or she will be responsible for reviewing and aggregating verification environments for each unit, and ensuring that all units and chip are properly verified. Verification must be automated to be used as a regression environment. The candidate will be responsible for generating the unit-level and chip-level test plans, and implementing many of those test plans using Verilog and `C'.
Additionally, the candidate will track the verification completion metrics and will help determine the test priorities. The environment he or she will create will also be used as part of the validation of the chips during bring-up, qualification, and characterization
Requirements:
BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field
Minimum of 15 years of chip verification experience using both C and Verilog languages
Other skills needed to be successful:
Bringup / lab skills: experience with hardware emulation, C/C++ modeling, and bringup
strong background in system architecture
