China's City of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

A Galaxy of Opportunities and Incentives in the IT Industry

Join us to meet BYD, Tencent, Alibaba, VanceInfo, Research Institute of Tsinghua, and other top Shenzhen technology companies and share their experiences of doing business in China and the U.S.

China's City of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is designed to facilitate and promote bilateral investment and trade between companies from the City of Shenzhen, China and the Greater Seattle Area. It will be hold on June 10 at Silicon Valley.

Gain insight into the information technology industry by listening to an array of private and public sector professionals from Shenzhen, China, who will be in Sillicon Valley to meet U.S. companies with an eye toward promoting trade and investment activities. Representatives from China’s BYD (high-tech and green transportation), ZTE (telecom), VanceInfo (IT outsourcing), and the Research Institute of Tsinghua University (R&D and Incubat
or) as well as Microsoft will be speaking.
Located in mainland China, adjacent to Hong Kong, Shenzhen was established as the first Special Economic Zone by the Chinese government in the late 1970s. Being the original “gateway” for doing business in China, Shenzhen is now reputedly one of the fastest growing cities in the world, a global financial center and home to numerous high-tech companies like Huawei (“Cisco”of China), Tencent (on-line messaging and games), Alibaba (e-commerce), Mindray (medical devices) and many others that operate in sectors in which Washington state  excels as well. Microsoft maintains a facility in the Shenzhen Hi-Tech Industrial Park as do other foreign global companies, demonstrating that Shenzhen is an ideal location for foreign direct investment.
The Shenzhen Software Industry Association and the WTIA have been partners since 2007, sharing mutual commitments to expand international trade and commerce opportunities for both their member companies.  Sponsors of this event include North American Representative Office of Shenzhen, China; Pacific Prestige, Inc.; Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle; Washington Department of Commerce; and Washington State China Relations Council.
