Power Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA

Opportunity Snapshot
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in the hardware engineering team of SAVBU - Cisco's latest acquisition in the Data Center space. The job involves working on our cutting edge high density 10GE switches, and server products. We are looking for candidates who strive in a fast paced start-up like environment. You will be part of a dedicated team, open communications, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success are the foundations of the team. Thus, you set your own limits for learning and achievements.
We are looking for a motivated Power Engineer to contribute to the development of our current, and next generation products.

Job Requirements:
- Ability to be involved from conception to high volume manufacturing
- Architecture, specification, design, implementation, and verification of power sub-systems
- Electrical design and/or selection of DC-DC converters
- AC/DC power supply development, working closely with PSU vendors
- High density dc-dc circuit design and layout
- Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate and test designs
- Familiar with simulation and analysis methods for power supplies
- Design knowledge of off-line power supplies and adapters including Power Factor Correction.
- Great understanding of analog fundamentals in the design of power electronics.
- Has demonstrated ability to design, and ship a product
- Hands-on lab experience is essential
- Excellent documentation, communication skills
- Effective interaction with other engineering disciplines skills a must
- A highly motivated, organized and self managed individual contributor is needed to fill this role
- Minimum of 5+ years of relative experience with BSEE, MSEE preferred
